30 June 2009, Tuesday- The most anticipated Hospitality Graduation Ceremony was finally held at Dimensions Hospitality School’s air-conditioned hall at 3.30 pm.

The grand ceremony celebrated the graduation of 260 Dimensions students from various hospitality courses. The graduates were from the NITEC in Food & Beverage Operations, NITEC in Accommodation Operations, City & Guilds Diploma in Food & Beverage Services, City & Guilds Diploma in Culinary Arts, Australian Academy of Hospitality Management (AAHM) and Dimensions Diploma in Hotel & Restaurant Services.

The ceremony started with the lion dance troupe entering the hall prancing around. It lifted everyone’s spirit with its drum beats. In his speech, the Chairman and CEO, Mr. Vincent Tan pleasantly welcomed the guests from China, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia. Mr. Tan shared some insights of the campus operations and the hospitality industry.

The ceremony marched on with the awards presentation to all the graduating students. Doing the honour were Mr. Henry Chan (Vice-Principal/ Director of Operations), Dr. Ler (Director of Quality Management), Mr. Robin Lim (Principal) and Mr. Sim Gwan Tek (Vice-Principal/ Director of Student Affairs). Our graduating student representatives, Ms. Gloria Wu from NITEC Food & Beverage Operations and Mr. Jason Chen from City & Guilds Diploma in Food & Beverage Services went on stage to deliver their speech of appreciation to their teachers and staff.

Later, the Awards of Excellence were presented by our Honorary Group Chairman & Chairman of Advisory Committee, Mr. Teo Chong Tee (J.P, BZBM) to students who achieved the best all-round performances. The student representatives also presented plaques to seven dedicated lecturers of hospitality courses. Mr. Teo, on behalf of Dimensions also received the token of appreciation of all of the graduating students.

The graduation ceremony ended at 4.30 pm with a song-and-dance item “The Grease Boys” presented by Mr. Milton Monteiro and his students from Class AAHM 12 and 13.
