Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Services

Awarded by DIMENSIONS International College

This course consists of 18 modules with sequence set by the Scheme of Work

The programme consists of two components:

Theory and practical class lessons conducted at DIMENSIONS International College
(6 months).
Industrial Attachment (IA)*, students will be trained at hotels, resorts, country clubs or restaurants and write a project report (6 months) - optional.

*Students must satisfy the following pre-qualifying requirements prior to school’s arrangement for their IA posting:

A) Complete and pass the practical and theory assessments of your Course
B) Achieve at least 90% attendance rate
C) Pass the Interview Screening Test comprising of:

Technical Test

Performance Test

Note:
IA posting is not guaranteed and will be subject to approval of relevant passes by Ministry of Manpower (MOM). No further IA posting will be arranged if a student withdraws or is terminated from the IA centre.

DIMENSIONS has the right to cancel a class/an intake if the minimum number of students enrolled is less than 10 for any programme per class. Students may enroll into a later intake, if any, or withdraw from course (refer to refund for withdrawal for cause: http://www.dimensions.edu.sg/About-Dimensions/Refund-policy.php).

*In the first week of studies, an induction session will be conducted. The students will be briefed by the Academic Staff on full details of the course including scheme of work, timetable, assessments and grading, assessment and exam dates and venue and many other academic matters.

DIMENSIONS has arranged for protection of course fees paid by the local and International student through the FPS Insurance scheme provided by AXA Singapore or the FPS Escrow account provided by HSBC Singapore.

DIMENSIONS - as an EduTrust-Certified Private Education Institution, is strictly not allowed to collect fee beyond 12 months. Installment payments (if any) have to be equally divided.

An important aspect of the EduTrust framework is the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), It serves to protect all students’ fee in the event the college is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and /or regulatory closure. Furthermore, the FPS protects the student if the college fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore courts.

EduTrust certified institutes must protect the total fees paid by all students via Escrow or Fee Insurance provided by appointed service providers.

DIMENSIONS will primarily work with the AXA FPS Insurance scheme. The HSBC FPS escrow scheme will be used when requested by students.

All course fees and miscellaneous fees are subjected to 7% GST, except for student’s pass processing fee and Student’s Pass fee (marked#).

DIMENSIONS shall provide all students (both international and local) the required medical insurance coverage on hospitalisation and related medical treatment for the entire course duration which is inclusive of the IA period (marked *).

Note 1:

Medical check-up is not applicable to students aged 15 and below.

Note 2:

Medical insurance is compulsory for all students aged 7 and above

Note 3:

All students must sign the Advisory Note to student before signing the Standard PEI-Student contract.

Note 4:

The Standard PEI-Student Contract must be signed by the student prior to making course fees payments to DIMENSIONS.

Note 5:

The course fees shown above are valid until 30th June 2013. DIMENSIONS reserves the right to make amendment to the course fees without prior notice as and when it deem necessary.

The course duration is 6 months Institutional Training and 6 months Industrial Attachment - Optional (Total 12 months)

Maximum allowed period for a student to complete the course is 12 months of Institutional Training excluding Industrial Attachment (IA) period.

Graduates progression pathway is subject to the respective Institutions’/Universities’ entry requirements at the point of application.
Foreigner’s application for jobs in Singapore is subject to the approval from the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore (MOM). DIMENSIONS DOES NOT GUARANTEE
any success rate of approval.

Note 1: This course will be conducted at the premises of DIMENSIONS International College.
Note 2: International Student must achieve at least 90% attendance rate (ICA Requirement).
Note 3: International Student must not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason (ICA Requirement).
Note 4: Students who do not require ICA’s student’s pass must achieve at least 80% attendance rate.Our College only accept medical certificates as proof for absenteeism. Any other documents should only be accepted on a case-by-case basis with full justification and be acceptable by ICA.
