There are more than 300 government secondary and primary schools where you can pursue good education in Singapore.

Every child from the age of 6 can apply for entrance to a 6-year Primary School. Foreign students may also apply for admission to a school from Primary One to Primary Five level. Upon completion of Primary Six, a student will sit for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).

The Singapore secondary education system offers a 4-year course (Express Course/GCE'O'Level) and a 5-year course (Normal Course/GCE 'N' Level). Foreign students may seek admission to join Secondary 1 to Secondary 3 level. Upon completion of their secondary education, students will sit for the Cambridge GCE 'O' Level Examination to acquire a certificate which has its worldwide recognition.

Foreign students wishing to seek admission to the government secondary and primary schools must sit and pass the entrance tests for two major subjects, English and Mathematics, conducted by the respective educational institutions.

The cost of living in Singapore is relatively low for foreign students. An estimated sum of S$800 to S$1,000 per month is required for a student.

A foreign student normally requires a sum of S$800 to S$1,000 for full boarding in a student hostel per month.

Singapore is a safe, disciplined and knowledge-based environment highly conducive for a good education. English, an international language, is used mainly as the medium of instruction for all levels of education.

The public education sector in Singapore has always received sufficient funding from the government budget each year. The education system aims to bring out the best in all students.

Singapore's official bilingual policy (English and Mother Tongue) has achieved remarkable results over the years. This has attracted parents of other Asian nationalities to send their children to study in Singapore and later, proceed to other English-speaking universities to further their studies.

Both the public schools and the private education organisations, including Dimensions Education Group, conduct courses leading to the internationally-recognised and acceptable basic academic qualifications for overseas tertiary education: such as the Cambridge GCE 'O' level examinations, in addition to many other diploma courses.
