The UK City & Guilds Qualifications in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts is a highly respected qualification for people who want to work in the Hotel and Restaurant Industry. This programme aims to reflect the international nature of the knowledge and skills and activities needed for different countries or cultures.

This diploma provides more practice involving a broader range of skills appropriate to a person operating as a front line worker with some supervisory responsibilities in a kitchen environment of a typical service outlet.

Dimensions Commercial School is an Approved Training Provider for the UK C&G Qualifications.

This 12-month programme consists of two components: -

(i) Theory and practical class lessons conducted on the premises at Dimensions Commercial School
Duration for Institutional Training is six (6) months.

(ii) ON-THE-JOB Training (Industrial Attachment), where students are trained at well-known hotels, resorts, country clubs or restaurants.
Duration for Supervised Field Training is six (6) months.

  • Preparation, cooking and service: farinaceous, pasta and rice dishes
  • Preparation, cooking and service: cold preparation dishes
  • Preparation, cooking and service: egg dishes and savouries
  • Industrial Attachment ( 6 months) **
** Students are entitled to only one (1) OJT-posting. They must attain an attendance rate of more than 90% to qualify for the OJT-posting and no further OJT-posting will be arranged if the student withdraws or is terminated from the OJT centre.
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
 

Students must be at least 16 years of age and not older than 35 years old and must have successfully completed secondary education, or junior high education or its equivalent.

Duration : 12 months
Days and time : Monday to Friday
9.30am–12.30pm or 1.45pm–4.45pm plus practical sessions
Intake : May/Jun, Nov/Dec
Examination Periods : June, December
Pre-requisites for Completion : (a) Attendance must be more than 90% and not absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason. ( ICA Requirements)
(b) Candidates will be required to sit for a practical skills competency examination and a two and a half hour written test with 100 multiple choice questions.
(c) A pass in all the examinations.

  1. Photocopied educational certificates, transcripts, awards and testimonials.
  2. 4 passport-sized photographs. Kindly write your name on the reverse side of your photographs.
  3. Resume/C.V.
B) The completed Application Form must be submitted personally to the office of Dimensions Commercial School during office hours. Original certificates, transcripts, awards and testimonials must be presented to Dimensions Commercial School for verification purposes.
C) A signed Letter of Offer and a Standard Student Contract.
