The National ITE Certificate (NITEC) in Food & Beverage Operations programme is designed to teach and train students to be able to function at a middle management level in a wide range of establishments ranging from hotels to catering institutions. The course offers management subjects and advances the understanding of the industry.

The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is a post-secondary institution that provides pre-employment training to secondary school leavers and continuing education and training to working adults. Since its establishment in April 1992, ITE has developed itself into an institution well-known for its provision of broad-based, multi-disciplinary curriculum that ranges from engineering to technical, business and services skills areas.

Dimensions Commercial School is an Approved Training Provider (ATP) for the NITEC Food & Beverage Operations and NITEC Accommodation Operations.

This 18-month programme consists of two components: -

1. Theory and practical class lessons conducted on the premises at Dimensions Commercial School
   Duration for Institutional Training is twelve (12) months.
   
2. ON-THE-JOB Training (Industrial Attachment), where students are trained at well-known hotels, resorts, country clubs or restaurants.
   Duration for Supervised Field Training is six (6) months.

** Students are entitled to only one (1) OJT-posting. They must attain an attendance rate of more than 90% to qualify for the OJT-posting and no further OJT-posting will be arranged if the student withdraws or is terminated from the OJT centre.

Students must be at least 16 - 25 years of age and must have successfully completed junior high school or its equivalent.
