BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) have been at the forefront of cutting-edge professional qualification design. It is administered by Edexcel International, which was formed in 1996 by the merger of BTEC (the Business and Technology Education Council) and the University of London Examinations and Assessment Council. Edexcel is one of the largest qualification awarding bodies in UK, and is approved by the official UK authorities, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

BTEC HND (Hospitality) is offered as a two-year programme that is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current or future employment, or for progression to an undergraduate degree. Such qualification is widely recognized by many commonwealth countries and universities.

Students who have successfully completed the BTEC HND programmes have an advanced standing into the final (third) year of the UK Universities, subject to the entry requirements of the UK Universities. Upon completion of the final (third) year in the UK Universities, students are eligible to obtain the Bachelor Degree (Honours) from the UK Universities.

The BA (Honours) Degree in Hospitality Management is specifically designed to provide students with a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of all the key related areas. The course offers management subjects to prepare students to be able to function at managerial level in a wide range of establishments ranging from leading hotels, resorts, country clubs and restaurants to catering institutions.

This 24-month programme consists of two components:

  1. Institutional Training:
    Theory and practical class lessons, conducted on the premises at Dimensions Commercial School.
    Duration is eighteen (18) months for HND Year 1 & Year 2.
  2. Industry Attachment:
    Students are attached to well-known hotels, resorts, country clubs or restaurants to perform their industry attachment.
    Duration is six (6) months for Industry Attachment.

Advantages of BTEC HND (Hospitality Management)

  • The programmes emphasize in practical skills rather than purely classroom examination type of evaluation. No IELTS is required.
  • It is a global fast track to a degree. Upon completion of the BETC HND, you can often be admitted into the second or third year of a related degree.
  • Upon passing all modules on the HND, you will have an advanced standing into the final (third) year of UK Universities. Thereafter, you can look forward to a B.A. Hospitality Management (Honours) from the UK Universities.

** Students are entitled to only one (1) OJT-posting. They must attain an attendance rate of more than 90% to qualify for the OJT-posting and no further posting will be arranged if the student withdraw or is terminated from the OJT centre.
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
 
Minimum Age for Entry : HND Year 1 & Year 2: 17 years old
(Complete minimum 11 years education)
Duration : 24 months (HND Year 1 & Year 2)
Days and time :

Monday to Friday
9.30am-12.30pm and 1.45pm-4.45pm
3 hours lesson per school day and 3 hours field project

Intake : Jan, May, Sep
Examination Periods : Assignments at the end of each module
Plus examination at the end of each module
Teaching Methods : Lectures, projects, assignments and tests.
Prerequisites for Graduation : 1) Attendance must be more than 90% and not absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons (ICA Requirements)
2) A pass in all the assignments and examinations
Qualification Award : 1) BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) from Edexcel International, UK.
Bachelor Degree (Honours) from UK University, after successful completion of final (third) year at UK University

A)
To complete the Application Form you have to provide us the following:
  1. Photocopied educational certificates, transcripts, awards and testimonials.
  2. 4 passport-sized photographs. Kindly write your name on the reverse side of your photographs.
  3. Resume/C.V.
B) The completed Application Form must be submitted personally to the office of Dimensions Commercial School during office hours. Original certificates, transcripts, awards and testimonials must be presented to Dimensions Commercial School for verification purposes.
C) A signed Letter of Offer and a Standard Student Contract.
