12 months of institutional training and 6

What is the installment
plan or payment scheme like? |

For most of the courses, students are required
to make full payment before the commencement

course can gain entry into the 3rd Year for
the Degree in Hospitality Management at Charles

Will my fees be refunded
if my student’s pass is rejected? |

If the student’s pass is rejected,
the registration, administration and processing
fees and the Escrow fees are non-refundable.

The tuition fees will be refunded to the
student within 14 days. |

As a foreign student, will
I have a chance to work in Singapore? |

Foreign students are not allowed to work
during their studies at a private school in
Singapore. |

After graduation your employer may apply
for a work permit (WP) or an Employment Pass
(EP/SP) from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
Singapore, to allow you to work in Singapore.

Please explain what is
Escrow? |

| a) |
The CASE Student Protection Scheme (SPS)
requires an ESCROW account for the student’s
tuition fees. Upon approval of the student’s
pass, 30% of this account will be given to
the school. The balance 70% will be disbursed
to the
school on a monthly basis. |
| b) |
The SPS scheme is to assure students that
their tuition fees are in safe custody and
they will be returned to them if the school
for e.g. is closed. |

Usually what is the application
duration for the Student’s Pass? |

| a) |
As a SQC-PEO school, we enjoy the green
lane benefits from the Immigration & Checkpoints
Authority (ICA) Singapore. Hence, approval
of the student’s pass application is
between 2 to 4 weeks. |

Why do we need to translate
all the documents in English? |
| |
| a) |
As the official business language in Singapore
is English, all documents for submission to
the government departments, must be in English.
This applies to the application of Student’s
Pass. |

If I want to further
my studies overseas, what are the procedures? |
| |
| a) |
Students, who wish to apply for their studies
overseas, are required to approach the relevant
overseas authorities for their specific rules
& regulations. E.g. The Australian High
Commission in Singapore if they wish to study
in Australia. |

Who will arrange for
the industry attachment for the Hospitality/F&B
courses? |
| |
| a) |
Our school will arrange for the industry
attachment as it is part of the course curriculum.
|
| b) |
One OJT-posting only will be given to each
student. No further posting will be done if
the student is terminated from the Attachment
Centre. |
| c) |
The allowance for students ranges from S$500
– S$800 per month. This varies from
hotels to hotels and restaurants to restaurants. |

| 14. |
How do I register for
the external examinations? How will I be informed
of the results? When can I collect my certificate? |
| |
| a) |
2 to 4 weeks before the official registration
dates for the examinations, the Customer Service
Executive will inform students to register
and pay for the examination fee accordingly.
E.g. for the Singapore Cambridge GCE “O”
Levels, students can access their results
on-line, using their SingPass numbers. |
| b) |
Certificates will be issued to students
normally within 4-8 weeks after their examinations. |
| c) |
Students will only be allowed to collect
their certificate, after they have paid all
their tuition fees. |
